In the reverse fixture at Anfield on 25th October 2009, Liverpool ended their worst sequence of results since 1987 with a 2-0 win over Manchester United.
Fernando Torres and David Ngog scored the goals, with Nemanja Vidic sent-off for the third successive time in matches between the two sides.
Liverpool are the only club in Premier League history to beat United four times in a row, between 2000 and 2002. They could emulate that record with a win in this fixture.
Wayne Rooney is in red hot form for United but has only ever scored once against Liverpool in 14 Premier League attempts.
